Markwayne Mullin is an eastern Oklahoma native, successful businessman, rancher, family man and youth leader in his church. The youngest of seven children, he was raised in the small Adair County community of Westville. In an election season where not being a politician is a big plus for fundraising and support, Markwayne Mullin chose Campaign Seeds as their exclusive online election service due to our track record in raising money and creating momentum candidates and causes.
The Image of the Citizen Politician
The Mullin campaign needed a professional looking campaign website that featured a superior and customized graphical layout with a bold color palette and clear objectives. We created a pledge counter on the home page to maximize newsletter sign ups while giving supporters a clear goal they could achieve and see progress live. Our designers worked with images taken of the candidate by professional photographers to create headers, banners, and marketing messages that pictured Markwayne with his family and business. Campaign Seeds created slogans that emphasized his family values, ability to run a successful business, and capacity to lead by example. Our team created a donation form that would give the campaign access to donor analytics, easy to generate reports, and that worked with their current PayPal payments pro platform.
An Expandable CMS
We chose the Drupal content management system because we knew that the Mullin campaign would need its website to grow with its fast moving campaign. Drupal allows the campaign to accommodate more users, a variety of content types, user permissions, complex lists of data and editable blocks of content. Campaign sites need to be robust. Drupal allows for easy scalability to accomodate the fast growth of the Mullin Campaign as election day draws nearer.
Advertising and E-mailing Oklahoma
Campaign Seeds created a lead generation system for the Mullin Campaign that uses Google Advertising and Facebook Advertising to spread the word to Oklahomans about the citizen politician running in their state. Landing pages test messaging against conversion rate steering the campaign towards the direction of the electorate; saving a bundle of money in the process. Auto-responders give supporters instant communication and encourage further action. Much of Oklahoma still uses email over social networking to communicate, therefore it was crucial that the Mullin campaign have top-of-the-line email services that could energize supporters and prompt the donations and volunteers needed to win.
Facebook Advertising
Facebook advertising is one of the best ways to build an active online community that spreads your brand spontaneously. When a user “likes” something it serves as a promotional tool allowing all of their friends to see it.
Campaign Seeds grew Mullin for Congress' Facebook page to over 3,000 likes in just three days of advertising efforts. The campaign now communicates with these users often receiving 100+ likes on messages they post and a 30%+ increase in traffic to their website.
